SEPAexpress partners with Volt to offer Request to Pay across Europe

London, 13th June 2023: White-label account-to-account payment specialists SEPAexpress has partnered with Volt, the leading global real-time payments gateway, to add further open banking payments to its product portfolio alongside its already established Direct Debit offering.

The Regensburg-based company, and sister of Banking Circle, is now able to offer one-off account-to-account payments, like Request to Pay, to its Payment Service Provider (PSP), corporate and merchant customers across Europe – with Volt’s real-time payments infrastructure connected to 1,800+ banks on the continent.

An added benefit to Volt’s market-leading connectivity, and the payment initiation service this facilitates, is its unique ability to offer real-time reconciliations. With payments tracked from initiation to receipt, SEPAexpress customers know precisely when an account-to-account payment settles in their account, who initiated it, and whether it arrived via the SEPA credit transfer or SEPA instant credit transfer rails. This is unparalleled on the market.

Commenting on the partnership, Franz Guttenberger, CEO of SEPAexpress, said: “We’re excited to partner with Volt to offer our customers the open banking solution Request to Pay. This highly convenient, fast and secure payment option has the potential to replace card-based payments. We’re seeing increased demand from our customers for a full suite of account-to-account payment offerings, which Volt is now helping us to deliver across Europe.”

Thomas Pinter, Volt’s SVP Sales, said: “It’s great to be partnering with a company that recognises the potential of account-to-account payments. SEPAexpress are leaders in the European market, and we look forward to offering one-off payments to their customers as an alternative to card payments.”
