Volt partners with SysPay to bring Pay by Bank to its hospitality, travel, and e-commerce merchants
London, 16th June 2026: Volt, the real-time, rail-agnostic money movement platform, today announces a partnership with SysPay, a European payment gateway with particular strength in the hospitality and travel sector, and a growing presence across e-commerce and marketplace verticals. The partnership makes Volt’s Pay by Bank solution available to SysPay’s merchant base, giving hotels, vacation rental operators, and e-commerce platforms access to open banking-powered real-time payments.
Travel and hospitality is a sector where the case for real-time payments is particularly compelling. High average transaction values, complex booking flows involving pre-authorisations and deferred payments, and thin margins all create demand for a payment method that settles instantly and at lower cost than traditional card rails. Real-time payments address each of these pain points: merchants receive confirmed funds in real time, eliminate chargeback risk, and benefit from significantly reduced processing fees – advantages that flow directly to their bottom line.
Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Malta, SysPay has built particular depth in hospitality and travel, where its gateway handles the sector’s demanding payment requirements – from pre-authorisation and no-show management to deferred payments and multi-currency settlement. SysPay’s merchant portfolio includes major hotel groups and vacation rental platforms, alongside a growing roster of e-commerce and marketplace clients served through integrations with platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, and Magento. The addition of Volt gives merchants across all of these verticals a modern, real-time payment option alongside existing methods.
“Travel and hospitality are verticals where real-time payments deliver clear value,” said Elaine Smith, SVP Commercial at Volt. “These are businesses dealing with high-value transactions, slim margins, and customers who expect seamless digital experiences. Partnering with SysPay – a PSP that truly understands this space – means we can bring the speed, cost, and settlement benefits of real-time account-to-account payments to the merchants that stand to gain the most from them.”
“Our merchants – particularly those in hospitality and travel – have always demanded payment solutions that match the pace and complexity of their business,” added Olivier Azzopardi, Executive Director at SysPay. “Volt is a natural fit for our platform. Real-time settlement, reduced fraud risk, and lower costs are exactly what this industry needs. We’re excited to offer our merchants a genuinely modern payment experience.”
Through the partnership, SysPay merchants can accept Pay by Bank payments across Europe via SEPA Instant and in the UK via Faster Payments, all through a single integration with Volt’s platform. Volt provides consistent coverage regardless of the underlying payment infrastructure in each market, simplifying expansion for merchants operating across multiple geographies – a common requirement in the travel sector.
The partnership is live now. SysPay merchants can begin accepting Pay by Bank payments from consumers across the UK and Europe immediately.
